“For a long time I had a weight issue despite being above average fitness level. For a long time was in denial about my weight and “accepted” that this was the way I was, and nothing could change that. That was until April last year, I read an article of Andy’s the exact name of which I cannot recall, but the theme of which stays with me every day “you can’t out train a bad diet”. Through ignorance of my own, I thought I could. Reading the article was like reading my own personal situation.
So I made an initial appointment with Andy in April & never looked back. Initial assessment gave me a shock. I was overtraining (5-6 times a week of similar training types) and I was about 43% body fat, with severe dehydration water levels. It was hard to hear, but I was determined. I booked in for weekly half hour training sessions with Andy and committed to be entirely honest about my food intake. Almost immediately (with a couple of days) I noticed a difference in my energy levels & mood, solely down to food.
Over the next 6-8 months, through weekly guidance & assessment by Andy we mapped out my progress. A second of Andy’s method – “if you measure it, then you can see improvement”. Andy measures key indicators of body fat loss – weight, body fat percentage, water levels and food intake. These will change constantly, but being consistent over a period means over time I saw the difference and it wasn’t long until my friends and family did too!
I was committed, the nearer I got to my goal body fat the less these measurement indicators will show major improvements, it is now down to chipping away and consistency. So lately it is Andy’s positivity that keeps me motivated. Being near to my body fat goal I have made small movements over the last couple of months. We are trying new diets and different training methods in an effort to get me where I want to be.
If it wasn’t for the positive attitude & belief Andy has that everyone can achieve what they set out to which for me is a loss of approximately 18% body fat – I would probably have quit. Yet after nearly 18 months I am as determined as I have ever been. Worse still if it wasn’t for Andy’s positive non-judgmental attitude, I fear I would still have the body fat of an obese person, despite me being able to run a half marathon in under 2 hours.
I unreservedly recommend Andy’s training for those wanting to get fit, those that are fit but they don’t have the body they should, and for those that are at the top of their fitness level who need an extra push to hit their goals.

“I became a client of Andy’s on the advice of a friend. I didn’t know what to expect but my fitness had been slowly declining for some time and I wasn’t really enjoying my favourite exercise – football. I had a recurring knee injury that was causing me a lot of discomfort. I also found that more and more of my clothes were getting used less and less!
One and a half years later I am enjoying my football more than ever and easily competing with guys half my age. I recently tried on all of my clothes (as part of an enforced spring cleaning!) and found that everything fitted perfectly. Finally, what about the recurring knee injury? Andy diagnosed the problem in our first session together. After a few months of work to strengthen the support muscles around my knee, the injury is fully healed and has never come back.
